Udupi BJP Seeks Probe into Alleged Irregularities in Sanjeevini SHGs

The Udupi district unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has sought a high-level probe into alleged irregularities in the Sanjeevini Self-Help Group (SHG) programme in the district. According to sources, several complaints were received from SHG members and beneficiaries regarding the misappropriation of funds and other irregularities in the programme. The BJP leaders claimed that the programme was being misused for personal gain by some officials and that the funds allocated for the SHGs were not being utilized for the intended purpose. The party has demanded a thorough investigation into the matter and has sought the resignation of the officials involved in the irregularities. The Sanjeevini SHG programme was launched in the district to provide financial assistance to women and to empower them through skill development and entrepreneurship training. The programme was aimed at improving the socio-economic status of women in the district. However, the alleged irregularities in the programme have raised concerns among the people and have put a question mark on the effectiveness of the programme. The BJP has also demanded that the government take immediate action to rectify the situation and ensure that the programme is implemented in a transparent and accountable manner.
