Udupi Courts to Implement Daily Security Checks Following Hoax Threats

In a move to mitigate potential threats, the Udupi district courts will now conduct daily security checks after a surge of hoax bomb alerts targeted at the judiciary premises.

Last week, security officials received several alerts alleging improvised explosive devices at the Udupi High Court, prompting a temporary lockdown and a review of safety protocols. The alerts were later deemed false, but the incidents have prompted the Karnataka Police department to intensify surveillance and establish a routine inspection protocol across court buildings in the district.

The new measures, intended to deter future false alarms and safeguard the judiciary, may increase operational costs but are expected to reassure both officials and the public.
