Udupi Courts to Verify Email Threats with Daily Checks

In response to a surge of fake email threats, Udupi district courts have announced that all incoming electronic correspondence will now be verified each day before the courts open.

Earlier this month, several messages purportedly from law enforcement warned of potential legal repercussions if a specified court schedule was ignored. Although the emails were later identified as fraudulent, they prompted officials to review existing security protocols and adopt stricter verification measures.

By instituting daily checks, court staff will reduce the risk of infiltration by malicious actors and ensure that officials only respond to legitimate correspondence.
