Udupi District Achieves Fully Literate Status

Udupi District has been declared fully literate after a comprehensive survey conducted by the district administration and the Education Department. This milestone reflects a nationwide push to eliminate illiteracy and encourages local governance to meet the national literacy targets.

The survey, carried out last year, recorded a literacy rate of 97.2%, surpassing the state average. Years of community outreach, adult education programmes in rural centres, and improved school infrastructure contributed to this achievement.
