Udupi District Court Faces Fourth Hoax Bomb Threat

The Udupi district court received a bogus bomb threat this week, marking the fourth such incident in the past twelve months. The warning, sent via an anonymous call, was immediately flagged as a hoax by the court’s security team.

Earlier this year, similar spoof calls targeted the court, a local magistrate’s office, and a nearby police station, prompting law enforcement to set up a dedicated task force to trace the source of the threats. The Udupi Police Commissioner confirmed that the department is working closely with the Karnataka Criminal Investigation Department to take measures against the perpetrators and to reinforce security protocols at judicial premises.

Despite the false alarm, the court resumed its regular proceedings without interruption. The judiciary and the local government have urged the public to remain calm and to report any suspicious activity.
