Udupi District Hit by Heavy Rain, Strong Winds Damage Homes and Crops

Earlier this week, the Udupi district experienced heavy rainfall followed by strong winds that left communities reeling.

The weather system, part of the southwest monsoon, brought over 300 mm of rain to several villages, while wind speeds exceeded 80 km h⁻¹ in coastal stretches.
