Udupi District to Administer Polio Drops to 65,401 Children on June 28

On 28 June, the Udupi district health department will administer oral polio vaccine drops to 65,401 children across the five talukas. The drive is part of the district‑wide immunisation calendar that aims to secure optimal coverage before the national campaign next month.
Polio immunisation in India follows a schedule of three primary doses plus two booster doses at 6 and 15 months. Udupi has already achieved a 97% coverage rate in the 2019 round and the current drive seeks to maintain the momentum as the government targets zero polio cases by 2026.
