Udupi District to Open 12 New Karnataka Public Schools

The Karnataka government has announced the establishment of 12 new public schools in Udupi district, as part of its efforts to strengthen educational infrastructure in rural areas. The schools, scheduled to open in the upcoming academic year, will cater to students from villages in Karkala, Kundapura, Byndoor, Udupi, and Bhatkal talukas.

According to the district Education Officer, the move aligns with the state’s 12-year plan to increase school enrollment by 15 percent in underserved regions. Each school will be equipped with modern classrooms, a library, and separate science and computer labs, as per the state guidelines.

With these new institutions, schoolchildren will no longer need to travel long distances for basic education, reducing dropout rates and allowing for more class time.
