Udupi District Unveils New Research and Science Portal to Advance Coastal Studies

On Friday, the Udupi district authorities inaugurated a new online platform, Researchmatters.in, designed to centralise and promote scientific research in the region. The portal offers a curated database of articles, open-access journals, and collaborative tools for researchers across Karnataka.

The initiative, a joint effort between the Udupi Science Council, local universities, and the state government, will provide students and faculty with instant access to global research, translation services, and a forum for interdisciplinary discussion. It also features a dedicated section on marine biodiversity, a key area for Udupi’s coastal economy.

Experts anticipate that the portal will streamline project proposals, attract external grants, and provide new employment opportunities for local scientists and IT professionals. “This is a significant leap toward making Udupi a regional hub for research,” said Dr. P.
