Udupi Health Minister Khader Unveils ₹28 Crore Funding for Hospital Upgrades

During a visit to the Udupi district, Health Minister Khader conducted a comprehensive review of local hospitals, noting a range of shortcomings in equipment, sanitation and staffing that have long hindered service delivery.
On the sidelines, authorities highlighted critical gaps such as outdated imaging devices, chronic understaffing in emergency units, and the lack of well‑equipped maternity wards. Khader acknowledged that these deficiencies have led to longer wait times and limited access to quality care for residents of both rural and urban areas.
Responding to the identified needs, Khader announced a ₹28 crore package earmarked for immediate upgrades, including the purchase of new diagnostic machinery, renovation of patient wards, and targeted recruitment of specialists.
