A resident of Udupi district in Karnataka has lost a substantial amount of money in an investment scam. According to reports, the victim had invested Rs 19.59 lakh in a scheme that promised unusually high returns. The scheme, which appears to be a classic Ponzi scheme, lured the victim with promises of high returns and a low-risk investment opportunity.
The victim, who wishes to remain anonymous, had invested the money in the scheme after being approached by a representative of the company. The representative had promised the victim that the investment would yield returns of over 10% per annum, which is significantly higher than what most legitimate investment schemes offer.
The loss of Rs 19.59 lakh is a significant blow to the victim, who had invested the money in the hope of securing a better future for himself and his family. The incident highlights the need for caution when it comes to investment schemes, especially those that promise unusually high returns.
