Udupi MLA Urges Prompt Dredging of Stormwater Drainage Systems

In a meeting with City Municipal Corporation (CMC) officials, Udupi MLA B V Kumar has called for urgent dredging of stormwater drains and smaller rivulets across the district to mitigate flood risks.

The MLA highlighted that during the last monsoon season, clogged drains led to widespread waterlogging in residential areas, causing damage to property and hindering transport.

He urged the officials to allocate the necessary funds and expedite the clearing work, stating that neglecting the maintenance of drainage infrastructure could jeopardize public safety and economic activity in the region. Source: Google News – Udupi.
