Udupi police carried out a large-scale inspection of 483 school vehicles, finding widespread safety violations that led to 203 cases being booked and a total fine of ₹71,000 collected.

The operation, conducted over several days across the district, targeted issues such as overloaded buses, lack of seat belts, and improper maintenance. Police officers and traffic police jointly inspected every vehicle, ensuring compliance with traffic rules and school safety regulations.
