Udupi Police Use NPR Cameras to Slash Traffic Violations

Udupi police have deployed National Police Reserve (NPR) traffic cameras across key junctions, reporting a sharp decline in violations over the past month.

The cameras, part of a nationwide initiative to improve road safety, capture real‑time footage of speeding, illegal parking and red‑light running. Data is transmitted to the state police headquarters where officers issue electronic fines and maintain a database of offenders.
