Udupi Rains Well, Farmers Celebrate Good Harvest but Face Orange Alert

Udupi district received generous rainfall over the last week, with most talukas reporting above average rainfall that should support the upcoming sowing season.

According to local meteorological data, the total accumulation in the district exceeded the average monsoon rainfall by approximately 20%, a relief for farmers who had been awaiting adequate moisture for seed germination and early crop growth.

In spite of the positive weather, a sudden orange alert has been issued for the district a few days later. Authorities warn that disease outbreaks in citrus orchards could compromise fruit quality and yield, urging farmers to take preventive measures and inspect their groves closely.
