Udupi Receives 12 New Karnataka Public Schools Under ADB-backed Project

In a ceremony today the Government of Karnataka inaugurated 12 new Karnataka Public Schools in Udupi district, marking the completion of an Asian Development Bank (ADB)–backed educational infrastructure project.
Officials highlighted that the schools, spread across the coastal talukas of Udupi, Kundapura, and Byndoor, were built to improve access to quality education for students in underserved villages. The project, worth ₹400 crore, involved the construction of classroom blocks, libraries and digital learning labs, and was financed partly through ADB grants and loan facilities.
Local residents and education experts anticipate a significant rise in enrollment, with schools projected to accommodate roughly 2,000 students each.
