Udupi district experienced a heavy rainfall over a 24‑hour period, recording 88.9 millimetres, the highest in recent memory, according to the Meteorological Department.

The neighbouring coastal district of Dakshina Kannada reported 70.1 millimetres, also a significant rainfall amount, underscoring intense monsoon activity in the region.
