Udupi Rowdy 'Sheeter' Arrested Under Goonda Act

A 32‑year‑old man, popularly referred to as a ‘sheeter’ for his notorious rowdy behaviour, has been booked under the Goonda Act in Udupi district after a series of violent incidents that had raised alarm among residents.

The police cited multiple complaints of assault, illegal possession of firearms and intimidation of local businessmen as the basis for the arrest. According to officials, the court found sufficient evidence to charge the individual under the Goonda Act, which is employed to curb organised criminal activities in Karnataka.
