Udupi’s Air Quality Stable Amid National Pollution Concerns, IQAir Reports

Udupi recorded a moderate Air Quality Index (AQI) on Friday according to IQAir, a global air‑monitoring platform based in the United Arab Emirates. The Karnataka district’s AQI hovered around 55, a level considered ‘good’ by international standards.

Nationally, India has witnessed rising particulate matter concentrations, especially in larger cities like Delhi and Mumbai, due to vehicular emissions and industrial activity. Udupi’s relatively lower AQI is attributed to its coastal location and less industrial activity.

While Udupi’s residents can enjoy cleaner air, officials urge them to remain cautious on days when national pollution peaks, as fine particles can still affect sensitive groups.
