Udupi Secures ₹2 Crore for Emergency Coastal Erosion Works

Udupi district in Karnataka has been allocated ₹2 crore by the state government to carry out urgent coastal erosion mitigation works along its shoreline.

Coastal erosion has progressively threatened fishing communities and low‑lying settlements over the past decade, with heavy monsoon rains and rising sea levels exacerbating the problem. Previous projects have struggled with delays and cost overruns.
