Udupi Shuts 130 Illegal Accommodations in Sewage Treatment Crackdown

Udupi authorities have launched a crackdown on illegal accommodations in the district, resulting in the shutdown of 130 establishments. The joint operation, conducted by the Udupi City Municipal Council (CMC) and the Udupi Zilla Panchayat, targeted 109 illegal homestays and 21 resorts that were found to be violating sewage treatment norms.
The move is aimed at ensuring environmental sustainability and public health in the district. The authorities have been cracking down on establishments that fail to adhere to sewage treatment regulations, citing the risk of water pollution and the spread of diseases.
