Udupi SP reports 193 drug complaints via QR code initiative

Udupi Superintendent of Police Hariram Shankar revealed that the local police department has received 193 drug‑related complaints through a newly introduced QR code reporting system.

Launched last year as part of the district’s anti‑drugs campaign, the QR code initiative allows citizens to scan a code and submit anonymous reports via a mobile app or web portal. Police say the technology has lowered barriers to reporting, enabling the force to act faster and more efficiently.
