Udupi to launch tender for new ESI hospital, bidders await project kit

The Government of Karnataka has officially opened the tender for a new Employees’ State Insurance (ESI) hospital in Udupi district, a move aimed at expanding accessible healthcare for state employees and their families.
The ESI scheme, administered by the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), provides health services to insured workers across the state. By launching this project, Udupi seeks to bridge current gaps in medical infrastructure, especially in rural pockets that previously relied on overcrowded private facilities.
Stakeholders anticipate that the tender will stimulate local construction and procurement activity, while patients can expect a specialised facility upon its projected 18‑month completion. The hospital will encompass diagnostic, treatment, and rehabilitation services aligned with ESIC standards.
