On Friday, Udupi police arrested a 30‑year‑old woman on Manipal Road after receiving complaints of a blackmail scheme targeting a local businessman. Authorities allege that she threatened to release private photographs unless paid an undisclosed amount.

During the investigation, police recovered electronic devices containing threat emails and text messages. The businessman, who has long supplied goods to several regional firms, denied any wrongdoing and claims the allegations are fabricated.
