Udupi Woman Scammed ₹65 Lakh by Fraudsters Pretending to be Mumbai Police

A 66‑year‑old woman from the coastal town of Udupi is the latest victim of a cyber‑fraud scam that saw her lose ₹65 lakh after hackers posed as officers of the Mumbai Police.
According to police reports, the fraudsters contacted the victim claiming to be cybercrime squad members and informed her that her bank account had been flagged for illegal activity. They assured her that they had a solution and requested her to transfer the money to a ‘safe account’ so that it could be recovered and returned to her.
