Unlicensed Conductor Arrested After CCTV Shows Him Driving School Bus in Udupi Crash

A 17‑year‑old driver was remanded in custody after video evidence proved he was behind the wheel of a school bus that collided with an on‑coming traffi on Friday night in Udupi. Police had been probing the accident for days, but the footage from a nearby CCTV camera finally linked the driver to the vehicle.
The crash, which occurred near the junction of S. Gutta Lane and Bidadi Road, left six passengers exposed to minor injuries, including a broken arm and bruises. The driver, who did not hold a valid commercial driver’s licence, was immediately taken to the police station for questioning, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
