A student from Uttarakhand, who was pursuing studies at Manipal Academy of Higher Education in Udupi district, died by suicide after allegedly facing repeated harassment and humiliation by a male staff member at the campus.
The student had reportedly tried to seek help from college authorities, but claimed the issues were ignored. Family members have now lodged a First Information Report (FIR) against the alleged staff member, accusing him of verbal abuse and harassment that contributed to the student's distress.
