Water Leakage Persists at Udupi Service Bus Stand, Official Inspects Site

Water has been leaking from the roof of the Udupi service bus stand for weeks, causing puddles on the arrival‑and‑departure platforms and discomfort for commuters.
At a site visit on Thursday, Prasad Raj Kanchan, Chairman of Udupi Town Municipal Corporation, inspected the damaged marquee and reviewed the repair proposals prepared by the municipal engineers. The leak is believed to be due to weakened roof joints and inadequate drainage, which have not been addressed following earlier maintenance schedules.
The persistent leakage poses safety risks, disrupts bus operations and could worsen the wear on the stand’s structure if remedial work is delayed.
