Woman Arrested in Udupi After Blackmailing Local Businessman

A woman was arrested by the Udupi police on Tuesday following allegations that she blackmailed a local businessman by threatening to disclose private information unless he paid a demanded sum.
According to the police statement, the accused had been in contact with the entrepreneur for several weeks, collecting photographs and documents, and demanding ₹15 lakh in exchange for keeping the material confidential. The businessman sought help from the local police, who opened a case under sections 378 and 379 of the Indian Penal Code.
