Woman Arrested in Udupi for Blackmailing Businessman

In a routine operation on Monday, Udupi police arrested a 30‑year‑old woman suspect of blackmailing a local businessman. According to an official, the accused allegedly threatened to disclose confidential information unless a sizeable payment was made.

The businessman, who prefers to remain anonymous, reported the incident to the police after receiving an encrypted message demanding a sum of Rs. 2 lakh. Investigators recovered the victim’s phone and two laptops, which reportedly contained the threatened documents.
